Borescope: Military Applications Featured At 2011 F-16/Proven Aircraft Worldwide Review

The introduction of RF System lab’s new VJ-Advance Video Borescope as a must have RVI tool for the US Military continues following  high level interest in this new borescope technology at the 2011 F-16/Proven Aircraft Worldwide Review.  https://www.worldwide-review.com/
The VJ-Advance Video Borescope is used by all branches of the Armed Services and the opportunity to demonstrate its capabilities to both US and Foreign Military customers made for a successful show.  Military and commercial representatives from multiple nations were able to see how the full featured fully articulating VJ-Advance 6.9mm borescope borescope and the new 3.9mm video borescope provides exceptional portability, ease of use and amazing affordability.  A great deal of interest was expressed for Foreign Military Sales (FMS).
RF System lab Military Sales http://www.rfsystemlab.us/military-sales.html  is effectively expanding maintenance applications for military units.  Changing paradigms from the traditional remote visual inspection (RVI) use of borescopes for primarily turbine inspection, the VJ-Advance makes RVI more accessible to Airframe, Life support, Corrosion Control, Avionics and other maintenance personnel, because of the easy to use format and affordability.  Specific applications where our borescope has been used are helicopter and jet engine maintenance work.  The list of potential uses for the VJ-Advance expands as manufacturers seek RVI technology to accomplish nondestructive inspections (NDI) in the production of Carbon Fiber Fuel Probes and hard to inspect wiring bundles.  Weighing only 23 oz. the VJ-Advance Video Borescope stores photos, videos and audio for easy download, as well as, instant viewing on the built in LCD display.
Make sure you visit the RF System lab display at most major military trade shows and see for yourself the amazing value of the VJ-Advance Video Borescope.  The next scheduled show is the DOD Maintenance Symposium in Fort Worth, Nov 14-17. http://www.sae.org/events/dod/

Borescope: ATA NDT Conference Attendees See New 4mm Borescope

September 26th – 29th :  I had the privilege of attending the 54th Annual ATA NDT Conference in Charlotte, North Carolina.  As a rookie in the NDT industry, it was fascinating to learn about the different types of NDT equipment available, such as Eddy Current, Ultrasonic, and Thermography.  Also as a rookie, I felt like I was surrounded by some very seasoned Veterans.  Three days was certainly not long enough to absorb the wealth of knowledge being offered by the many professionals at the conference.  It was like “trying to drink from a fire hose.”
Our booth traffic was very heavy, and our newest 3.9 mm borescope was well received.  People were certainly impressed with VJ-ADV’s picture quality for such a small diameter insertion tube.  Along with the picture quality, they loved the portability (as always) and the maneuverability of the articulating tip.  Of course our 6.9 mm borescope still received its share of attention.  The features that most appealed to the attendees were the light weight, portability, and overall ease of use of our VJ video borescopes.
We were intrigued to find that many people attending the conference were new attendees and had not had a prior opportunity to see and learn about borescopes, including the type of video borescope features to seek when they are ready to buy a borescope.
One thing that was somewhat surprising (and nice) is that more and more people are becoming familiar with the name “RF System Lab.”  We are making a strong and favorable impression on our customer base, which is quickly building our brand recognition in the RVI world.  We were especially flattered to have our competitors recognize that even though our scope may not package as many functions as the very high end borescopes, what it does it does well.  And the VJ-Advance is difficult to compete with pricewise with the quality features and functions it does carry.
I will look forward to attending this conference again in the future.  It was a great opportunity to meet new clients, as well as learn about the different technologies available in NDT.  I believe it is important as a sales consultant, to be able to advise on what technology would be best for our customer’s application.

Borescope: TurboMachinery 2011 Sees New RF System Lab Borescope

RF System lab was proud to participate in the 40th Turbomachinery & 27th International Pump Symposium from September 12th-15th 2011.  The Symposium was held at the George R. Brown convention center in downtown Houston Texas.  The show was extremely busy with plenty of potential customers who were interested in the VJ-ADV articulating video borescope.  We were pleased with all the excitement centered on our new 3.9mm video borescope.  I spent some time with Mark McKind from Fusion Babbitting Co.  If you have never checked out Fusion babbitting…you must check out the Fusion Babbitting website.   I really enjoyed meeting the gentlemen Representing Kawasaki Power Generation.  They were very intrigued with how ergonomically designed the VJ-Advance line of borescopes are … they couldn’t believe how compact, lightweight and portable the VJ-Adv borescope is when compared to other high-end video borescopes.
I was really excited to stop by the Afton Pump booth at the show.  I had just received a PO from Afton for our new 3.9mm borescope on the Friday before I flew down to Houston.  I wanted to thank them for their recent purchase and discuss with their engineers exactly how they used the 3.9mm articulating video borescope in their quality department to inspect the bowls in their impeller pumps so they can be 100% sure that they are free from all imperfections.  There is no substitute for visual verification…that’s why video borescopes have become an indispensable tool for many Quality Control Engineers.
In all, I had a wonderful time at the Symposium meeting new customers and seeing familiar faces.  I made some great contacts and would recommend this show to anyone who is interested in Turbines, Turbos, Pumps and Compressors.  The next Symposia is scheduled for September 24th-27th 2012 in Houston Texas.  Hope to see you there!

RF System Lab Borescope Featured in New Movie - The Mechanic

At RF System Lab, we are thrilled to announce that our borescope, the VJ, was recently featured in the release of the Hollywood hit, “The Mechanic”.  This hard hitting action film features stars Jason Statham and Ben Foster as elite assassins with a strict code and unique talent for cleanly eliminating targets.  There strategic hit men require absolute perfection in their work and from their tools.  As a result, we were not surprised to find out that they would like to use the RF System Lab articulating video borescope as a cutting edge piece of technology that would help them look behind walls, under doors, and into any dangerous situation where they needed an eye but couldn’t squeeze there head!
In the fall of 2009, the prop specialist from The Mechanic were searching for a tool that would work as a high end fiber optic spy camera.  It appears they found exactly that when they were referred to RF System Lab.  According to General Manager Sean O’Connor, “It was obvious our borescope would be perfect for the scene they described, and we thought we would love to see great technology such as our borescope in a great movie.”
This isn’t the first time RF System Labs borescope has been featured in a movie, and it certainly won’t be the last; a little insider information has it that CSI: New York, the television show is currently following the lead of Hollywood, and using this highly portable high end technology for a scene in an upcoming episode.

Mega Rust 2011 Conference to Include RF System Lab

RF System Labs will be an exhibitor at the upcoming Mega Rust, on June 6-9, 2011. RF System Lab will be in booth #72 and will be offering to send interested agencies or facilities a demo borescope for a free trial of their VJ-Advance borescope.

Mega Rust, presented by the American Society of Naval Engineers, is an annual event for government, military, owners, operators, shipyards, research facilities, and coatings manufacturers and suppliers to come together and focus on Navy corrosion issues.  Corrosion is a major factor in naval system ownership costs. This conference is intended to promote discussion and information sharing on corrosion controlling strategies and technologies.  Borescopes are a vital tool in performing remote visual inspection of ships and submarines.  In particular, a 4-way articulating borescope, such as the VJ-Advance, is a preferred choice in borescope systems for marine RVI uses.

Along with the regular conference agenda, Mega Rust will host professional development classes for both NACE International and the Society for Protective Coatings (SSPC) and NavAir  (The Naval Air Systems Command) is holding a separate technical track.

The conference location is at the:
 Ted Constant Convocation Center
